We’re fresh off our latest trip to Vegas where we attended five very different shows over the course of four days. This buy is always an exciting and important one. Many Fall trends will be debuted here. While some make the cut, others fall by the wayside. Nevertheless, it’s a great place to see new fashion unfold and discover what’s going on with a lot of West Coast based designers.
While we spent most of our hours deep in the fashion world our feeling for great food led us to an array of top notch eateries. First on the list: Le Cirque. Tuna terrines and lobster salads were a nice place to begin a meal of perfectly prepared prosciutto wrapped monk fish. Gem lettuce Caesar salads & yummy soups during a stop by Gordon Ramsey’s pub, bone-in-filet at the palm and the most beautifully presented oysters and beef tartar at Spago were all standouts.
Back on the fashion front, finding new vendors as well as checking out the latest collections from designers we’ve worked with for years is always the highlight of these buying trips. Our mix of clothing ranges from classic white shirting to leather shorts. So we were equally excited to find Neoclassics, a graphic t shirt line featuring original artwork from LA based artists as we were to come across Stella Carakasi (think Sarah Pacini with a hint of Eileen Fisher). At the end of the day it’s all in how you put it together. We’re catering to a wide variety of women in a little over 1600 square feet, hunting for the perfect blend is what makes this job challenging, yet, so exciting.
