Lauren’s first gig was at the Gap. Fast forward to a business course during her sophomore year in College where she wrote her first business plan for a women’s clothing boutique. After graduating from College of Charleston with a BS she dove right in to achieving her goal. She focused on building her skills in the retail space. Her big break came when she got an opportunity to manage a boutique on Kiawah Island, SC. She started as an assistant manager but became manager and buyer in a few months; Larry and Barbara Brown gave her a once in a lifetime opportunity. Her experience with them gave her the confidence to move back to Asheville and open up shop with her mother. It’s been six years, three locations, three name changes. Now it’s better than ever.
